Books
So, let's get a conversation going . . . what books are everyone currently reading? I just finished Night by Elie Wiesel and When the Emperor Was Divine. I highly recommend both if you haven't read them already. Easy reads, Night really hits your emotions and When the Emperor Was Divine has beautiful prose. I read them both as a preview for teaching them to my students. I'm really excited, the last novel I tried with them was Things Fall Apart, which we didn't get to finish. Half of them loved it and half of them hated it, to be expected I guess. Another book I have been trying to get through (since Christmas) is Memoirs of a Geisha. I like it, I just have a hard time finding the time to read it. I guess I could spend less time on the computer, but computers take less thought!

I love When the Emperor was Divine. I read it for connections my freshman year of college and we got to listen to the auhtor speak and sign our books. I'm starting Harry Potter 4 but mainly I'm reading my ornithology textboook, this week, the physiology of birds.
Eww, I hate textbooks. But I actually had a roommate in that bird class and she loved it. Hope you do too. Is this your first time reading Harry Potter? I haven't read any yet.
I just started reading Jane Austen's Emma, so far its pretty good but I haven't gotten to far into it.
I read Things Fall Apart last semester in my African Studies class, and I loved it. I just finished A Lesson Before Dying for my Multicultural studies class, and Ben said it was one of your favorites. I thought it was great, and now I'm reading Yeats plays and poetry for my Irish Studies class..pretty cool stuff.
