Good times in Utah.

The whole time I was in Utah I kept thinking I needed to call the girls and do lunch but I never made it up to the Salt Lake area. I spent most the time in sunny St. George and loved it! In the last week I've seen all my Bassett nephews and nieces and it just makes me want to see Noah and Jackson so much more! I'm getting really excited for the 4th of July a little premature, I know.

These pictures are from Easter weekend. We went to Hershey PA to watch my brother's kids' Easter Egg hunt. Also Ben sold his bike to someone one town over. He bought a commuter bike and loves it.

This picture is of my oldest brother's kids. They adopted the little girl and she is SUPER cute. She's 1/8 native and 1/4 Mexican.

Playing in the pool with Max. He loved jumping in. He also loved when my Dad would hold him and I would play "Shark" and grab him from under water. Pools are more fun with little kids to play with.

Finally, my best friend from High School put some blonde highlights and red lowlights in my hair. Ben laughed at me when he first saw it, and he laughed hard. So rude. But I like it, so ha. Love and miss you all.

Harry Potter Movie

Did all you Harry Potter geeks hear the news? The Deathly Hallows book is going to be split into 2 movies! Here's an excerpt from the AP article, "Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be split into two parts on the big screen. The first film is slated for release in November 2010, with part two following in May 2011." The two films are going to be shot concurrently. Personally, I think it's just a scam to squeeze more money out of the series, but hell I'll most likely see them both anyway.

I also included the link to the entire article.

Tuesday night movie review

Tonight we saw "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day" starring Amy Adams and Frances McDormand. It was really good! Linda, Vicki and I give it three thumbs up. Very funny, reasonably clean (there is one brief bum and a couple of d***-its) and it's got Moaning Myrtle in it. What more could you ask for?

On a slightly related note: did you know that our beloved Aunt Linda is a famous movie star? It's true! Check out this poster for her new movie we saw in the movie theater. She and Patrick Dempsey are so cute together, aren't they?

She's gonna kill me. :)

Go Hoyas!!!

Saturday night Ben and I went to the Georgetown v Louisville game. They were tied for 1st place in the Big East. It was a tense game. The Hoya's were up by about 11 at one point and then it came down to the last seconds of the game, but Georgetown pulled off the win.

It started snowing here about 10 o'clock Friday morning an didn't stop until 10 o'clock last night. So needless to say we've got a little bit of snow here.

I took this yesterday afternoon after watching these cops make their way down the street clearing off the cars that were still parked on the street. I'm guessing they were trying to get to owner's info so that they could contact them and get them to move the cars so the far lane could be plowed. I was very grateful that I have my own parking spot off the street and I didn't have to go out in that.

The view out front this morning. Since then the plow truck have dropped salt and the road is clear and dry.

This is hangin off the roof outside my back door. I hope nobody is underneath it when/if it falls down.

I guess this gives the phrase "in bed with the Bush administration" a whole new meaning.

Some pictures

This picture was taken tonight. We went out to eat for some Thai food to celebrate Ben's return.

The other two pictures are from the Baltimore Aquarium. you can see a couple sharks behind me, they were pretty cool.

Speaking of Sharks, today we read a story about a surfer chic who got bit by a Shark and I asked my students how they think they would have reacted. One responded, "I would have had to fight it off, I have a child. I do it for them." How's that for weird, well not as weird as the fact that I know what marijuana smells like thanks to all the kids who get high in the stairwells of my school!

Summer Job

I'm so excited because I finally got a summer job. I'm going to be a research assistant for a Professor at Georgetown. She specializes in international environmental law which I'm pretty excited to learn about. That means that Liz and I will be staying in DC for the summer so you're all expected to come out and visit.
