M.F.E.O.

I've always assumed that Steve and I were perfect for each other but it has now been confirmed. Last night Steve and I were watching TV and this commercial for milk came on, and then without saying anything we both started to sing the words "milk" over and over again. It was pretty funny and weird (it wasn't a joke we had or something we had done before). But I am glad that I found the weird lid to my weird pot!

Found Video

When I was pulling the temple pictures off my camera I found this video and it made me laugh.

Temple Trip

Simon and I went down to the Columbus temple this weekend to do baptisms.  It was a great trip and wonderful to go back to the temple.

Spring Break

Last week it was my Spring Break and I was lucky enough to go home, I had so much fun...bummed I had to leave but only 7 more weeks until I'm back. Anyway Noah, Jack, & I made green chocolate chip cookies for St. Patrick's Day, they loved it. Both of them had a lot of fun using the beaters especially Jack. The weather was so nice we were outside for most of day. Mom and Dad and I went for a bike ride at Rolan (sp?) Olsen and again it was gorgeous out! The pictures of the boys with the shirts over their heads they were Robot Aliens. Jackson was swinging his arms running around saying that in his monster voice, I really wish we would have gotten a video of it because it was so funny. I took pictures of Mom's birthday but they are on Dad's camera..

Simon's First Youth Dance

Simon and I chaperoned a youth dance last night.  They did a superhero theme and somehow that meant that there needed to be a velcro wall there. Simon was talked into giving it a try.

Then after the dance we helped clean up and Simon saved a Spiderman mask from the garbage.

On a side note: Simon received the priesthood today and we're taking our first trip to the temple on Saturday. :)

Glen Beck makes a whole lot more sense that the idiots in Congress. He also knows a lot more about how this government is supposed to work and the current threat to our politcal freedom that the liberals who are currently in control and certainly more than that lying weasel Obama. But that's just my opinion.

I got me a truck!

I traded the Cadilac on a 2006 Avalanche. It has heated leather seats and a Boze stereo along with a power sun roof. Very nice. It also has a hard top bed cover and 4 WD.

Another Hungarian Lesson

Brought to you by Stephen Colbert. There's a whole series of his run for the Hungarian Bridge name. I'd have to research the accuracy of his facts, but some of it has to be true. And about all of it is funny! So enjoy!

Craft Corner

This is a bird feeder. We don't have any trees around our apartment that we can hang it on but we aspire to one day.

It was pretty easy and fun but two people painting one bird feeder did prove a little difficult.

I think it turned out great and hopefully one day soon it will help feed lots of little friends.

We got this dresser at the DI when we got married. Even though it came with a nice floral design I thought it could use an update.

I painted it to match our bedset (I got the idea from Midwest Living). I think it looks much better but the hardware is still ugly but new hardware didn't make the dresser budget, maybe later. Still though I like it a lot more and now I want to buy furniture from the DI and just paint it new.

So painting I guess is the only "craft" I'm good at but I hope to learn how to quilt someday. I think its important for everyone to have crafting goals. :)

Melancholy Mood

I've been feeling a little down and stressed lately so, I thought I'd post one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm blue. "How To Disappear Completely" by Radiohead.

Here is my ultrasound

For all those who haven't seen it, here is my first ultrasound. It looks like a little ghost right now, but that will soon change.

My turn at the Daily Hungarian Lesson

I have a Hungarian student. Her dad is so great, so rugged Hungarian. I can hardly understand what his is saying most the time, but at our last visit he let me know that my name was very noble. I mentioned that I heard it was like "Smith" here in America. He informed me that is very inaccurate. It's not that it is common, it is noble. The most cherished and remembered royal family had this last name. He said there is a poem every child has to memorize in their school days, and then he recited it. Sure enough, there in the middle was our last name. It sounded so cool to hear him say this poem from memory. He said it is commonly known as one of the country's greatest poems ever. The author wrote it as a sort of ode or thank you to the royal family. He wouldn't translate it for me because it would lose it's beauty. What a guy.

3 time WAC Champs

We had our last basketball game on Saturday vs New Mexico and we killed them! The score was 77 to 51 I believe but anyway we won and it was awesome! And we won the WAC for the 3rd time! I'm bummed basketball is over but now it's closer to football season. (Hoping our team keeps improving from last year). Oh and the mask is of our senior Jared Quayle kinda creepy but I think it's funny!

Daily Hungarian Lesson (will not be a daily thing)

I was reading somewhere that Hungarians have a similar saying to our "no use crying over spilt milk." It is, "more was lost at Mohacs." I'm not sure the history but I think it dates back to the 1500s and must have been referring to some battle...I asked my English Honors advisor, who is Hungarian, and she said it is pronounced "Mohahtsh," with the accent of the first syllable, and that it is a saying that symbolizes Hungarian optimism.

Graduate School Acceptance!!!!

Hey so I know I already texted everyone, but I just wanted to write and say how stoked I am that I've finally been accepted and offered an instructorship position! I've been waiting since Dec. when I turned in my application, and I just found out today.

So this means, on top of my job with Student-Athlete Services, I will also be attending grad. school classes and teaching two sections of ENGL 1010 on campus this Fall and Spring. Next year, I will most likely be teaching ENGL 2010 courses. And the best part is, they are paying me pretty nice and offering me some health benefits, which I will sorely need after May 3rd...

Woo hoo!!!!!!!

Cute Pics

I think we've all seen these but I thought I'd post them here anyway. :)
