This is the Alamo. It is right in the middle of San Antonio and is not very big at all. The old fort is mostly gone and this is the main remaining building.

The Riverwalk was developed during the depression by the WPA which was a governent agency to provide work for people through public works projects. They build roads, parks, bridges etc. It was not until after a Worlds Fair was held in San Antonio in the 1960's that the Riverwalk became popular and began to be developed into what it is today.
