Happy Halloween!!

Our ward had a Halloween party on Friday and we brought this witch's hat. We didn't have a big enough plate so we had to put it in a dish but it still was cool. We made it out of rice krispies cut into circles and topped it with an ice cream cone and covered it with frosting that Steve made. To make the shape I microwaved laffy taffy and then rolled them out with a rolling pin and cut them out with a cookie cutter. We worked really hard on it so I was pretty bummed when we didn't win most creative. The people that won didn't have that creative of a treat but whatever I am still proud. So if anyone wants a pointy hat cake for any special occasions just let me know!!

Here's what we've done this year for Halloween.

These top two pictures are the pumpkins that Steve and I carved at home. I did the bat and he did the face (he doesn't believe in stencils). We left them out in the rain and they fell apart, they are now lying flat as pancakes on our back porch. I'm just going to leave them there and start a compost pile.

We carved these pumpkins at the Watson's house. Steve did the owl (free handed!) and I did the leaves (Steve drew them and I carved them out)

On Thursday we took a bus tour of haunted Salt Lake. It was fun because I got to see lots of places in Salt Lake that I didn't know existed, even though most of it was B.S. (Steve's words not mine). The lady giving the tour told us of a house she was in from pioneer times and she distinctly heard "pioneer boots" walking across the kitchen floor. Pioneer boots have a distinct sound? So that was something new we learned.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

Photoshop of Phone Pics

Pictures of Reid

So in an effort to not totally dominate this blog with pictures of Reid I'm going to upload photos to a Picasa album. You can check the album periodically to see any new photos. If this doesn't work well then we might have to find an alternate solution.

Another One

Handsome like Daddy
Hopefully you won't get tired of a picture each day.

Bye Bye Blonde Hair

I dyed my hair brown today! Ah it kinda freaked me out at first but I love it. I tried to get a good picture that really shows how dark it is but this is the best I could do . Happy now Katie?! Tell me what you think! I'm loving it.

If you're interested

I wrote up a monster post about Reid's birth story on my personal blog.  I wanted to capture it all before I forgot.  It'll probably make you feel like you were there . . . it's that long!

Picture of Dad with baby coming soon.

Check out my sweet pumpkin.

Sunday we carved pumpkins and I'm pretty sure mine was the best. Not really but I still like it I should have done a cooler design since mine was a big pumpkin, next time.. Who else has carved pumpkins?

Celebrate Good Times!

Life is going good for the Watsons in case anyone was worried. Last Friday Steve took his 3rd out of 4 CPA test so we celebrated by going up to Logan to see Utah State play BYU. It was a really fun game mainly because we won! We saw Lauren at the game and Katie was there somewhere kicking it VIP (so I hear). Then this week was Steve's first week at his new job. He's liking it so far and everyone seems friendly so that's good. So to celebrate that we went to a fun park type place and mini golfed, rode go karts and played arcade games. We won enough tickets to get a glow stick and a laffy taffy so that was exciting. This coming weekend we are going to Park City to celebrate our first anniversary and then we will celebrate the birth of little Jazz Wazz. Life is pretty good!

We won!!

Go Utah State!

Me at the mini golf place. If you got a hole in one at the end it talked to you and shot fire out of the top. Steve got one but alas I did not.

Mark your calendars

We already told all parties close enough to come . . . but just covering the bases . . . Reid's baby blessing is planned for Dec 5 and you are all invited.  The weather will be perfect (not cold and snowy ;) ) and the opportunities for baby holding will be abundant.  Let us know if you are interested.
