Wisconsin Adventure

Last week the 3 of us went exploring in Wisconsin. I think we went to Kettle Marine ( I'm not sure how to spell it) It was really beautiful we climed up one hill which Mom named Heart Attack Hill and we also found a lot of bike trails which hopefully we make it back up to ride on them. We also learned Frye gets car sick...a lot

90 Day Challenge

Today was Ward Conference and our Bishop gave us a challenge that I thought I'd share with you guys.  He just finished the P90X physical fitness program and put together a similar spiritual fitness program.  It's a 90 day spiritual program: each day spend 30 minutes doing spiritual activity, something different every day.

  • Tools: Scriptures, Ensign, journal, and Gospel Principles manual.
  • Sunday - start of the week, build the rest of the week's activities on what was learned at church
  • Monday -  FHE
  • Tuesday - read the Book of Mormon
  • Wednesday - pick a topic and study scripture on that topic
  • Thursday - read an article in the Ensign
  • Friday - study Sunday school lesson write down notes
  • Saturday - basically a day off but he encouraged us to do something - spend time with family, do service, write in your journal, etc.
  • Write feelings and impressions in your journal
  • Start and end activity with a prayer
  • Involve your family and friends
  • Two results: increase spirituality and journal filled with spiritual insights and feelings

Am I the only one left here??

Well, since this has become my own personal blog, I will talk to myself:
-Hey Katie, remember when you went to see Robin Hood last night?
-Oh yeah it was so good! I really like the battle scenes, and it was surprisingly funny.
-That's cool, would you reccommend it to your family?
-Yeah, I would...
the end.

Awesome Podcast

I was looking around for new podcasts to listen to the other day and I came across a really great one.  It's called "Stories from General Conference: Inspirational Messages for Our Time" (you can subscribe to it here).  Each episode centers on a different topic and includes a compilation of stories from recent General Conferences related to that topic. The episodes range in length from 10 to 45 minutes.  I just subscribed last week but it looks like a new episode is released every two weeks or so.

On a related note you can get the broadcasts of General Conference as a podcast too (yes I know they're available on lds.org as well).

Voice of an Angel

OK, first of all Happy Birthday to me...shame on those of you I have yet to hear from, j/k! However, I did hear from my nephews, and Noah sang me the most beautiful rendition of "The Happy Birthday Song," I have ever heard.

Seriously, it was so pretty, and he knew all the words. I informed him of this, and he said something like, "Yeah, I know." Then, I said I wish I had recorded it so I could hear it again and again, and he's like, "I know!" Haha at least he knows he's good! You really should be jealous if you haven't received a serenade like that...I hope I can do him a similar service when I sing to him in two weeks!! :)
