A Thousand Words is Worth a Picture

Many of you know, and I already shared this with mom, that I love that picture of Linda's that has all the quotes, but since the only one to buy is at least 30 bucks and we can never take a good enough picture to copy, I found most of the quotes in one chunk and then just pieced the rest in. Some may be missing, and they are surely out of order, but i think you get the picture..Love you all!
Here it is:

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Birds of a feather flock together. A narrow mind has a broad tongue. The reason why worry kills more people than work is that more people worry than work. There is more to life than increasing its speed. No one gets too old to learn a new way of being stupid. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Who lives content with little possesses everything. Too much of the world is run on the theory you don't need road manners if you are a five ton truck. He who is known as an early riser can stay in bed till noon. When you see a situation you cannot understand, look for the financial interest. It is better to be a has-been than one who never was. If Jack’s in love, he is no judge of Jill’s beauty. The things most people want to know are usually none of their business. You cannot be anything if you want to be everything. We didn’t all come over on the same ship, but we are all in the same boat. After learning the tricks of the trade, many of us think we know the trade. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action. He who lives on hope has but a slender diet. If God had meant for people to go nude they would have been born that way. Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. One of these days is none of these days. There are two sides to every question and if you want to be popular you take both. Logic is the art of going wrong with confidence. All looks yellow to a jaundiced eye. The man who is too old to learn was probably always too old to learn. It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts. The rich need not beg a welcome. Do not discourage the other man’s plans unless you have better ones to offer. Castles in the air are alright until we try to move into them. To most of us it would be very convenient if God were a rascal. The only sure thing about luck is that it will change. It is difficult to see the picture when you are inside the frame. Some people think they are generous because they give away free advice. We hear and apprehend only what we already half know. When you probe unseen places use protection. A real Christian is one who can give her pet parrot to the town gossip. No one is unemployed who minds his own business. The dog that trots about finds a bone. The most welcome person is the one who knows when to go. The secret of success in conversation is being able to disagree without being disagreeable. Experience is one thing you can’t get for nothing. He who loses his head is usually the last one to miss it. One meets his destiny often in the road he takes to avoid it. He that has but four and spends five, has no need for a purse. Some people know how to live everyone’s life but their own. Many a live wire would be a dead one but for connections. The vow that binds too strictly snaps itself. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on. Nothing so needs reforming as other peoples habits. If at first you don’t succeed, you are running about average. The fellow who is a good sport has to lose to prove it. It is easier to fight for one’s principles than to live up to them. Easy street is a blind alley. It would be a swell world if everyone was as pleasant as the fellow who is trying to skin you. To say the right thing at the right time, keep still most of the time. To suspect a friend is worse than to be deceived by him. When it comes to helping you some people stop at nothing. The growth in wisdom can be accurately gauged by the drop in ill temper. There are visual errors in time as well as space. One thing in favor of a polka-dot tie is that one more spot doesn't matter. To approve is more difficult than to admire. The virtue which we appreciate we to some extent appropriate. Occasionally you meet a person who thinks he is all seven wonders of the world. You never know how many friends you have until you rent a cottage by the beach. It is better to risk saving a guilty person than to condemn an innocent one. No question is so difficult as that to which the answer is obvious. The man who waits for things to turn up has his eyes fixed on his toes. When the cup is full carry it even. Anticipation breeds frustration. Be obscure clearly. Some people pay so much attention to their reputation that they lose their character. It may be that those who do most dream most. A man in passion rides a mad horse. Knowledge and timber shouldn’t be much used until they are well seasoned. They talk most who have least to say. Mistrust first impulses, they are always good. Everyone complains of memory, no one of his judgment. Nothing is impossible to the man who doesn't have to do it himself. That which is said while drunk has been thought out beforehand. Have a nice day. :)

Coming to Utah

Reid and I will be in Utah for my brother's wedding this month.  I'm so excited he finally gets to meet his Bassett cousins and Aunts and Uncles!  But I'm also willing to pencil in a time for the Szilagyi girls (and I might add he hasn't met Uncle Steve or Will . . .)

We land in SLC Saturday, the 13th at 10:40.  And we fly out Wednesday the 24th at 8:20.  I'd prefer an early lunch on Saturday, but let me know what is easiest for you guys (breakfast Wednesday would probably have to be too early for any of us to enjoy).

If we can't get those days to work out, you're always welcome to stop by Delta (aka the greatest place on Earth)!  We'd show you a real good time ;)

Hey family I posted something!! Yeah!!

This is what this tornado did to every house it's path! This picture is after the clean up notice all the yards are clean and only standing walls are left. That is what Fema is doing down here they call it "Right Of Entry" or R.O.E's pretty soon they'll relaese demo contracts and the rest of these houses will be knocked down and cleaned up. Why would you do that when you clean up the original mess you say? Because the federal gov. is in charge and that would make sense!

More missing houses!

Driving a 60,000 lbs down the street!

Nice to see the arch again!

This was alot more fun than it looks!

There's alot more to show I'll try to take more pictures.

Love you everybody!

All I want for Christmas . . .

Wow, it's almost been a whole month since anyone posted on here.  Sheesh!

Well, as my title implies . . . I'm here to ask something of everyone.  I want pictures of kid-size Ben!  I know some of you have scanned old family photos into your computers, so if you could please e-mail me the photos as an attachment that'd be great (downloading them off facebook never gives me as high a quality as the original scan).

Ben only has about 6 pictures of himself as a baby and even less of him as a toddler/child. I'd really appreciate any pictures any of you may have with him in them, but pictures from about birth to 12 would really make me love you. I'll take paper copies, originals, computer scans, anything!  I'm certain there were more than 12 shots snapped of him, even if we only end up with 20, I'll still be happy as a kid on Christmas morning.

Thanks a billion!

Weekend Update

This weekend Steve and I went to the Chalk Festival at the Gateway. It was pretty cool to see what people were about able to do with chalk. Sadly, a lot of them weren't completed yet but it was still cool to see and it was free so we can't complain too much. We'll definitely be back next year! Here's some pictures of what we saw, I have more but as always blogger and my computer DO NOT get along.

Go Harry!

I liked this parrot one a lot!

On Saturday I had to work at a fair in Millcreek for work. It was ok until the wind started up. It blew so hard it blew everything off my table and blew my hat off. I didn't think it was very funny but I bet any of the numerous people that saw me acting like a dork frantically trying to collect everything did. At least I got to go home early since a storm was coming. Then I came home and made a pie for the men at church for Father's Day. Its a frozen peanut butter turtle pie. We tried it at church and it was really good and it was easy to make. Let me know if anybody wants a recipe!

Next weeks highlights:
-A visit from Jessica and Jazella*
- Steve's family is coming to his softball game (Thursday)
-Going to the Utah Arts Festival (Friday)
-Going to Logan to get my ring fixed and to see Emily (Saturday-Sunday)

* this is not an actual planned event, its just a wish.

In closing, I would like to wish a Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! I hope that everybody has had a fun weekend! Love you Guys!
