Some New Scenery

Alright, it's time to get something new on here . . . and I guess that means I have to post something.  I'd put up pictures, but I'm pretty sure everyone sees them on facebook or my own blog . . . so I'll just be lazy and give some updates.

We are loving Oshkosh now that the weather is nice and balanced.  We've been exploring all sorts of wildflower species and love finding new trails to take long Sunday walks on.

Reid can easily get anywhere he wants, which is usually the entertainment center for the light on the Wii or behind the piano keyboard for the cords.  He still prefers the army crawl to the "real" thing.  He can crawl on all fours, but he's slower at that and I'd imagine his weight makes it a work out, so he just uses all the elbow strength he has to zoom himself around.

We keep thinking those top teeth are coming in (because he has some pretty fussy days) but they have yet to debut . . . but his two bottom ones sure are cute (and sharp).

It's really fun now that he starts to show preferences for certain things.  Whenever I pick him up and head near the front door he starts to bounce his legs and shrill in excitement.  He loves being outside.  He's still a people watcher, but I think he's starting to like cars and other things that make noise as they pass by.

This week we are house sitting for two families in our ward.  It sure has made us eager to have our own backyard, tho ours will likely never sit on a pond big enough to canoe around.

That's about all from Wisconsin.  If you haven't seen pictures lately, you really should check out my blog or both our facebook accounts.  We've been putting lots up, it's hard not to share how cute little Reid is with the whole world.

Tracy Aviary

Katie, Bizzie, Jazella, and I packed up yesterday and headed out to Tracy Aviary in SLC. Now, it was under construction, and the groupon we (bizzie) bought didn't turn out to be as helpful as we thought, but let's not dwell on the negative. All in all, it turned out to be a fun afternoon with the birds.

Greetings from Park City

Steve and I took Friday off of work and headed to Park City for a couple days. It's been fun but we realized that there isn't much going on in May in Park City. We looked at the city guide in our hotel room and it had activities for all the months of the year EXCEPT May, we had a good laugh over that.

I dont know why this paragraph is in blue, blogger is making me crazy so I give up. I tried to put these pictures with the rest but it's not cooperating! The first one is some marmots we saw while on the lift, they were getting a front row seat at the Alpine slide. The second on is at the nature preserve.

Some of this trips hiccups:
-The weather isn't warm enough for water activities (we wanted to go jet skiing)
- The art museum we like to go to is in between exhibits
- I forgot my deodorant

We've managed to do some things and its been nice to get away from work, and packing and cleaning.

Fun things we've done:
- Went to Swaner Nature Center/Eco Preserve. We saw Sandhill Cranes, a muskrat and lots of passerines.
- We rode the ski lift and went down the Alpine Slide. We saw lots of marmots while we were on the lift.
- We soaked in the hot tub (too bad there were leaves and other crap floating all over)
-I got a free lettuce wrap because my first one had dirt in it

Today we are going to get a candy apple and go shopping at the outlets. All in all its been a nice getaway.

At the eco preserve

Around where we saw the muskrat

Unfortunately, moments after this picture was taken Steve was eaten by that wolf.

Hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day weekend!

Sorry to hog..

This would continue for years...Ben's already fed up.
The future mother at work.
For about two months in the summer of '91, she refused to leave this house.
The first heavy machinery he ever operated. (PS Ben's behind him in the white hat, so says Mom's note on back of the pic I scanned)
I remember dancing to "Lolli-pop, Lolli-pop"...
First place? Go Cougars! (not BYU's)
The happy (crazy) family

I don't mean to hog the blog, but I have been scanning a bunch of my old pictures (you may have notice on fb) and thought I would share some since many of the best include you all as well...Enjoy!

Stepping Up

Well, since Katie "unofficially" challenged us all to update more, I figure I'll let everyone know how we're doing here in Oshkosh.

Reid has his two bottom teeth, and has had them for a couple weeks now.  I think the top ones might be coming in soon.  He loves to crawl with his legs and knees, but can't figure out how to work his arms.  Today I had this moment where I thought "He's so smart he knows man isn't suppose to use all fours!"  He really works his legs so hard and his arms just stay totally still.  Either way, he just ends up going backwards or practically getting stuck with his butt straight in the air.  He went from one solid food serving a day to three overnight.  He loves pears.  There aren't any foods he hasn't liked, but pears definitely seem to be the favorite.

Ben loves lawyering.  He's so anxious to get a jury trial.  His stories kill me, he does people such a service and it seems they either don't appreciate it or bawl for fear.

I love watching my comedy shows.  Yup, that's what I'm doing right now.  ABC Wednesday and NBC Thursday light up my life.

Okay, so this really headed no where fast, but hopefully it will appease Katie and anyone else who wanted a new post from Wisconsin.
