Our ward had a Halloween party on Friday and we brought this witch's hat. We didn't have a big enough plate so we had to put it in a dish but it still was cool. We made it out of rice krispies cut into circles and topped it with an ice cream cone and covered it with frosting that Steve made. To make the shape I microwaved laffy taffy and then rolled them out with a rolling pin and cut them out with a cookie cutter. We worked really hard on it so I was pretty bummed when we didn't win most creative. The people that won didn't have that creative of a treat but whatever I am still proud. So if anyone wants a pointy hat cake for any special occasions just let me know!!
Here's what we've done this year for Halloween.
These top two pictures are the pumpkins that Steve and I carved at home. I did the bat and he did the face (he doesn't believe in stencils). We left them out in the rain and they fell apart, they are now lying flat as pancakes on our back porch. I'm just going to leave them there and start a compost pile.

We carved these pumpkins at the Watson's house. Steve did the owl (free handed!) and I did the leaves (Steve drew them and I carved them out)

On Thursday we took a bus tour of haunted Salt Lake. It was fun because I got to see lots of places in Salt Lake that I didn't know existed, even though most of it was B.S. (Steve's words not mine). The lady giving the tour told us of a house she was in from pioneer times and she distinctly heard "pioneer boots" walking across the kitchen floor. Pioneer boots have a distinct sound? So that was something new we learned.
