Noah Soccer

Noah drives down the field to score, only to have the opposing coach get in the way of the moment of glory. (Big Jerk!)

Wind Point and Racine, WI

Your mother and I were looking for something to do on Saturday. So we found a lighthouse listed near Milwaukee and decided to take a road trip.
We had a little trouble finding it, who would have thought you could hide a lighthouse? We did find it and it was well worth the effort.
The little building is the Fog Horn Building which is now a museum.

A flower amoung the flowers!

This engine room panel was made in Cleveland in 1909,

Some of the flowers on the grounds of the lighthouse. They had beautiful little garden with a bench overlooking Lake Michigan. It really was a gorgeous spot and a wonderful day on which to enjoy it.

The Wind Point Lighthouse as seen from just north of Racine. It was a little hazy, so the colors are not as good as they might be. We are going to try to go back in the fall when the trees have changed. Its about a 90 min drive from our house.

We had to wait while the drawbridge opened to let a group of sailboats out of the inner harbor.

This is a view of the Drawbridge from the outer harbor.

The Racine Lighthouse is on the right. The light is no longer visable. The building on the left is the Rescue Station. Both are now owned by a yatch club so this is as close as the poor people can get.

The resturant in Racine overlooked the harbor and the lighthouse.

Newest SAS intern!

Hey y'all! Just thought I mention, for those of you who didn't hear, that I am officially the newest undergrad intern for Student Athletic Services. This means I get my own corner office, and by corner I don't mean I'm on the corner of the building with beautiful windows it means I have a corner in an office with no windows, my tuition paid for this year and for the next 2 years as I go for my masters in American Studies, which is what I have decided to pursue; although, dad and my boss are convinced that I am going to end up working in higher education. Anyway- the downside is I have to work every dang second I'm not in school, and I have way too much responsibility for someone as carefree as me. Growing up is hard to do! :)

Saltimbanco!

A few weeks ago we went to Cirque du Soeil at the E Center with Steve's family. His Mom got us tickets and we were like 3 rows from the stage. It was amazing. I really was stunned at how strong and flexible the performers were, it was a little weird and it was all in french but I think that everyone should go at least once in their lifetime. In these pictures all the people on the pole are holding themselves up and straight with just their arms and they would flip around and never fall. There were also there two girls on a trapeez high above the stage doing flips and catching each other with their feet. I was little freaked out by the costumes and french music but I am so glad that we had the chance to go. Viva le Cirque!

Minnesota fishing trip

When we went to our 40th HS reunion in Bay, we hooked up with a couple with whom we have been friends in HS, Chuck and Jean Jamison. Chuck and I were very close friends, but fell out of touch over the years. They go fishing in MN every year, Chucks faimily (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) have been going to the same place for as long as he can remember. They invited us up so we went for a long weekend. Had a great time. I caught the largets Northern Pike I have ever caught 42 inches, 20+ lbs. Mom caught a real nice Walleye, 24 inches and we had a great time. Best thing was we were able to renew some old friendships and relive much of our mis-spent youth. These are just some of the pictures we took.

Summer at the Gallivan center

Will and I went down to SLC a few weekends ago and we saw Q-tip (he's a rapper) free at the Gallivan center. It was SO crowded and hot but it was fun. It was hard to take a good pic of the stage (as you can see) but we did get some of ourselves. ;-)
