Thankgoodness for Columbus

I love that in DC we celebrate every holiday. Even the day Columbus sailed the ocean blue. It was so nice to have a long weekend. I tried to get Ben to go to Virginia Beach with me, but we bailed for about the third time in a month. Can you believe that, it's snowing in Utah, but out here the weather is nice enough to hit the beach! Ha ha.

Saturday we went to Prince William National Park, for about a three hour hike. It was gorgeous. So green, and the perfect weather. Here are some pics:That was about as steep as the trail got. I sure do miss my mountain home. But my mountain home was never this green and alive.

Ben almost stepped on this little guy. We had fun playing with this millipede. His legs looked like a wave while he slithered on his way. We also saw a bright green caterpillar, a large snake (which would have terrified Carol), lizards with bright blue tails, lots of fungi, and some fish.
The hike by the creek was the prettiest part of the trail. It was great exercise. And a wonderful way to spend quality time together.

Sidenote: I'm looking for someone who has read Life of Pi. I need to discuss this book with someone.

Calling all book lovers.

So my friend got me hooked on this thing called shelfari. It's a way to keep track of all your reads. It's really user friendly. You get to rate, review, and discuss all your favorite books. My only thing is I wish I had more friends on there (instead of just all these weird strangers who have requested being my friend). So this is an invite to everyone to join. It would be fun to keep track of our reads together and discuss our favorite books. We could even start our own little group! Anyway, check it out. http://www.shelfari.com/lizszilagyi

Sidewalk Chalk

Can you believe this man's artwork? They are so real looking! Well I got these and more in an e-mail, so I thought I would share my favorites with you guys. I think he does this in NYC judging by the background, but I don't know. What I do know is Burt from Mary Poppins has nothing on this guy...

Halloween is on its way..

I know the resolution is terrible, but here is a picture of the pumpkin Linzee and I carved. I did the scene on the left with the zombie hand and creepy tree and Linz did the right side with the tombstone and the killer bat. We're planning on doing one every week til Halloween! Wooo! or should I say Booo, ha ha...
