Summer has arrived.

We are having a BBQ today with Ben's law school friends. We want to celebrate their first year of law school. I think I'll have to throw another one for all my first year teaching buddies. That will be a big party though, and we'll be the only Mormons. I wonder how I'd tell them the drinks will all be sodas. Well, for those of you who don't know. I got my job back and I'm real excited cause most the other teachers are staying there too. We've made it through one crazy year together, bring on another.

So, the other day this kid ran into my classroom talking about how he got shot at the night before. He acted all nonchalant about it. He even laughed when he told us his friend was shot in the leg. It was kind of disturbing. Later, I brought it up to one of my other classes and they were all like, "Yeah, that's the life. Dodging bullets." Maybe we don't want to live in the city. . . but the apartment we found is a STEAL. Bring on the city of 169 murders in 2006. We'll have to practice our dodgeball moves.

Tuesday Night Movie Review 5/13/08

This week's movie is "Speed Racer". I can't say that it was the best movie I've ever seen but it was pretty good. It was a good looking movie with a nail-biting ending but the story left a little to be desired. It's definitely one of those movies that's better seen in the theater though so I would recommend going to see it and not waiting for it to come out on DVD. One and a half thumbs up.

One more thing from home..

Alright so apparently Cpt. Carl taught Fry this trick, and he does it when he wants something like whatever you're eating. It's pretty dang funny, but it's sad when he does it and doesn't get a treat because he gets frustrated and is like "Hey what's the deal I'm doing it right where's my reward??"

Spring has arrived..

I thought I would share my pictures of all the different flowers blooming in our yard, especially for those who won't be here for awhile when they will probably be dead and gone. Beautiful eh?

Tuesday Night Movie Review 5/6/08

I know that some of you have already seen this movie but those of you who haven't... GO NOW!!! It was awesome! I loved everything about it. And don't leave when the credits start, there is a bonus scene after the credits that is interesting but not especially exciting. Two thumbs up!

What is wrong with people who talk to their cats? Pretending they talk back may be problematic...but talking to them...nothing wrong with that! Quote of the week...
"If I was a Jedi people would leave me alone" Ok so this was a total tard moment while we were watching Episode 3 and I just thought they are so respected and if I could threaten use of super cool powers people might be a little nicer...I still sound crazy! Nevermind

Greetings from DC

MMM... I'm baking Oatmeal cookies right now. Wish you were here to eat them with us. So, who all is coming to visit us this summer? DC is a great city and I know where you can get a free tour? I hope everyone is feeling better and doing well. The fishing trip must be coming up soon. I hope your company is as fun as it was last year.

Ben and I are apartment shopping. We like our place but it is a bit pricey. We found something similar just down the road that's a little cheaper. But our best find was an apartment right between our schools. It's small but it is so cheap. We would save so much money. We filled out the application Friday and should find out Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed.

Not to boast, but we are having great weather. I'm ready for summer. Hope winter has finally left all the rest of you. Except you Katie, I know how you love snowboarding. Any surf plans for the summer?
