Recycle or Die!!

Today was my first day of work! It wasn't too bad, I just sorted containers. But I get to learn how to drive a fork lift so I can move big boxes of recyclables on pallets around. So that should be funny. Anyway, in honor of my job I would like to share with you a poem I wrote way back in Mrs. Hagan's 7th grade reading class. Enjoy!
All About Me
I am a loud girl who likes to recycle
I wonder why there is no peace
I hear trees being cut down and dying
I see their look of fear on their face as they die
I want to do something great before I die
I am a loud girl who likes to recycle

I pretend I am alone in the world
I feel time slipping through my fingers
I touch the clouds
I worry for the poor countries
I cry when someone close to me dies
I am a loud girl who likes to recycle

I understand we will never be perfect
I say who needs perfection?
I dream that we can all live in peace
I try to make everyone I meet smile
I hope mankind can get along
I am a loud girl who likes to recycle

Wow that's pretty deep for a 7th grader. Do you still see the faces of trees as they scream and die? Cause I would imagine after awhile you'd kinda get sick of that and tell them to quit their whining you're trying to sleep.
