Desert Island Music

I was inspired by this NPR article to think of my 5 "desert island" CD's (i.e., what music you'd want if you were stranded on a desert island for an extended period of time). And ignoring any of the logical inconsistencies of how you would actually listen to music without electricity, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone would pick. Though it was hard to decide, here's my list.
  1. Burnin' (Deluxe Edition) by Bob Marley
  2. Kid A by Radiohead
  3. Live by Rusted Root
  4. The Best of Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
  5. Surrender by The Chemical Brothers
Runner up: Discovery by Daft Punk

P.S. I know that #3-4 are kind of cheating because they're compilations but I just couldn't choose one album so deal with it.

I don't know which "albums" I'd pick. I'd probably just look for a "best of" by these:

Josh Groban
Enya
Regina Spektor
Dashboard Confessionals
Mormon Tabernacle Choir

I know that is kind of cheating, cause it is five artists instead of five CDs. But I'm too lazy to do the research on which one album I like best.

Hmm..without too much thought:

Ani DiFranco-Ani DiFranco
Silent Alarm-Bloc Party
Sumblime-Sublime
I am..Sasha Fierce-Beyonce
The Moon & Antarctica-Modest Mouse

and I didn't cheat...except "I am..Sasha Fierce" is 2 discs, but if I had to choose I'd take the second one. :)

Alright, I'll "un" cheat.

Groban - Awake
Enya - A Day Without Rain
Spektor - Far
Dashboard - The Places You've Come to Fear the Most
MoTab - Hymns of Faith

I just had a kid to take care of before I could really study it out.

This is fun, so I hope everyone else participates! And Katie, I must say your Beyonce choice surprises me. I like her, but I didn't know she'd make your final cut.
