I took this picture of this cute little bird in my work parking lot. I always see them there in the morning. My work is next to a big wooded lot. Anyway, I want to know what kind of bird it is. I know it is a quail of some sort but not sure what exactly. Who can tell me?

Its a California Quail. They are all over out here. I saw a family of them at Steve's the other day with cute little babies.
They are so cute. Aren't they endangered?
According to Wikipedia the California Quail is the state bird of California and is currently listed as "least concern". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_quail
