57 on 57

To celebrate my 57th birthday, I recruted Ken Davis (no longer DeForest) and Mark Stewart to go with me on a 57 mile bike ride. The ride wasn't bad, but we had 20 - 30 mile per hour head winds on the way back and it took forever (6 hours) and was really hard. But we made it! Poor Mark was making his first ride of the season and had to go home and sleep for 5 hours afterwards. Next year we may do 58 on 58 in May. You will note from the sign, that the good people of Illinois haven't gotten much friendlier in the last 160 years. Love ya all, Dad!

What sign? Or should the post read "Dementia on 57"?

The sign in the upper left. It says: "Stay on the Path or Stay at Home".

I was telling the ladies I work with about this and one of them asked if you had one of those fancy spandex biking suits. XD

Yes, I got spandex for Christmas.
